My Philosophy
Your wedding deserves more than beautiful photos. It deserves memories that still feel alive years later.
When couples ask what it's like working with me...
I'll fluff your dress before anyone notices.
Keep your timeline moving without making it feel rushed.
Find the best light in the middle of a chaotic day.
Wrangle family photos in minutes.
Then step back when it's time for the moments that matter.
One thing I feel strongly about is this: your wedding day isn't a movie set.
I've seen wedding days where every laugh, hug, and reaction was carefully directed. While that style works for some couples, it has never felt like me. That approach has just never felt right to me.
The biggest moments of your wedding only happen once. Your dad seeing you for the first time. Your partner's expression as you walk down the aisle. Your grandmother wiping away tears during the ceremony. Those moments deserve to be remembered as they happened, not recreated afterward.
Of course I'll guide you when you need it. I'll help with where to stand, where the light is best, and give enough direction so you never feel awkward wondering what to do.
But once the moment begins, I let the emotion take over.
Because years from now, I don't want you to look back and remember what I asked you to do.
I'll guide...
✔ Where to stand for the best light.
✔ Family portraits so everyone knows where to be.
✔ Natural prompts so you never feel awkward.
I'll never...
✔ Ask you to fake a first look or stage it
✔ Recreate a reaction that already happened.
✔ Turn your wedding into a photoshoot.
You'll leave with...
✔ Photographs that actually feel like your day.
✔ Time to enjoy your guests.
✔ Memories that are genuine and not manufactured.

Wedding Photography FAQ
What if we're awkward in photos?
You're not professional models, and I don't expect you to act like them. My job isn't to force you into stiff poses that don't feel like you. It's to figure out what feels natural for the two of you. Some couples are playful. Some are quiet. Some can't stop laughing. Others just want to soak it all in. I'll read the room, guide you when you need it, and let the genuine moments happen. Those are always my favorite photos anyway.
What if it rains?
Okay... I'm going to get a little cheesy here.
You've probably heard that rain on your wedding day is good luck. But do you know why? There's an old tradition that says when you "tie the knot" in the rain, the knot becomes tighter because wet knots are harder to untie. It's a symbol of a marriage that's built to last. Now... I know that doesn't magically solve the photo problem.
The good news is your day will unfold exactly how it's meant to. We'll keep an eye on the weather, take advantage of breaks in the rain, find beautiful covered locations, and if we end up embracing the rain, some of my favorite wedding images have happened because couples chose to enjoy the moment instead of fighting it.
How many weddings have you photographed?
Honestly... I've lost count. I typically photograph between 8 and 16 weddings each year, sometimes more. Every wedding is different, but after years of photographing them, very little surprises me anymore. Whether things run perfectly on schedule or the timeline gets completely turned upside down, I've probably seen something similar before.
What happens if your camera fails?
This is every photographer's nightmare... Thankfully, it's also something I'm prepared for. I bring multiple professional camera bodies, backup lenses, extra batteries, memory cards, lighting equipment, and backup gear. If something decides today is the day to stop working, we simply grab the backup and keep going.
What if we're behind schedule?
Honestly... wedding timelines are more of a roadmap than a rule book. Things run late. Hair takes longer. Someone can't find their shoes. A flower girl decides she's done cooperating. It happens. I'll help keep things moving, adjust throughout the day, and make sure we're focusing on what matters most. I've learned how to zig and zag with a wedding day without adding stress to yours.
How much direction do you give?
One of my favorite things a bride has ever told me was: "I know my wedding day wasn't for everyone... but it was perfectly us." That's exactly how I want your photos to feel.
Before your wedding, we'll talk about what's most important to you, what moments you're excited for, and what you absolutely don't want to miss. I'll guide you into good light, help with natural posing when needed, and make sure you never wonder what to do with your hands. But you'll never find me asking you to recreate a moment that already happened. I'll guide the people. I'll never guide the emotion. Because years from now, I want you to remember how the moment felt and not what I asked you to do.
When will we receive our gallery?
I actually do things a little differently than most photographers, and my couples seem to love it. Your full gallery is typically finished within 6 to 8 weeks and delivered through an online gallery where you can download everything. Your gallery stays online for an entire year, and it's organized into folders like getting ready, ceremony, family portraits, reception, details, and more. Here's the part that's different... I don't make you wait until every single image is finished before you see anything. As I complete each section of your wedding day, I upload it to your gallery. That means while I'm still working on the full collection, you'll already be reliving parts of your wedding instead of waiting two months to see a single photo.
Do you help with timelines?
Absolutely. In fact, I'd rather help you build one than try to fix one on your wedding day. I'll help create a photography timeline that gives us enough time for everything you care about while still leaving room to actually enjoy your wedding. My goal is to make your day feel relaxed, not like you're racing from one thing to the next.
"If you're even thinking about booking Chelsea... just do it. I was so worried we'd look awkward in photos, but she somehow made us feel completely comfortable. It honestly felt like having another friend with us all day, except she was also somehow everywhere at once catching every little moment."
"Chelsea is the kind of person you want with you on your wedding day. She kept us on track without making us feel rushed, fixed my veil more times than I can count, made everyone laugh during family photos, and somehow still captured every emotional moment. We seriously couldn't imagine our day without her."
"I ugly cried going through our gallery. There were so many moments I didn't even know happened until I saw the photos. My grandparents laughing during dinner, my husband looking at me during speeches, my mom helping with my dress... she caught everything. It felt like getting to relive the entire day."
"The biggest compliment I can give is that I never had to think about photography. Chelsea handled everything. She knew when to step in and give direction and when to disappear so we could just be present. By the end of the night, half our bridal party was asking if she could photograph their weddings too."
